St. Richard's Angels Home Help was founded in honor of a remarkable man whose life was defined by compassion, service, faith, and unconditional love.

St. Richard Alvin Smith faithfully served as the Pastor and Organizer of Prayer Temple of Love Cathedral from 1974 until his passing in 2020. His ministry touched countless lives, and his legacy continues to inspire the mission of our organization every day.

St. Richard believed that true ministry extended far beyond the walls of the church. He dedicated his life to serving his community by organizing annual neighborhood barbecues, leading meditation and spiritual growth classes, and providing meals through community soup kitchens. Whether someone needed food, guidance, encouragement, or simply someone to listen, he was always there with open arms and a caring heart.

Those who knew St. Richard often said that he never met a stranger. Everyone was welcomed with kindness, dignity, and respect. His genuine love for people made every person feel seen, valued, and cared for, regardless of their circumstances.

He shared more than 40 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Clara, building a strong foundation of faith, family, and service together. He was the proud father of three children, a loving grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather whose wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support continue to influence generations.

To many, St. Richard was much more than a pastor. He was a mentor who guided others through life's challenges, a father figure who offered encouragement, a trusted friend who listened without judgment, and a teacher who inspired people to live with purpose, integrity, and love.

Although St. Richard passed away in 2020 due to complications from COVID-19, his legacy lives on through every act of kindness, every family we serve, and every life we touch.
